Highly acclaimed director Sudhir Mishra comes with his new offering ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’. As the name suggests, the movie is about how life has its own plans while you go about it. An unusual love story Yeh Saali Zindagi deals with how far the protagonists go to prove their love for the women they care for and how the most unusual things set things right.
‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’ has a powerful star cast comprising of Irrfan Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Arunoday Singh who are supported by Aditi Rao, Saurabh Shukla, Vipin Sharma, Yashpal Sharma, Sushant Singh, Prashant Narayan and others, which fits with Sudhir Mishra’s epic style of story telling. Irrfan Khan plays Arun, who is in love with Priti (Chitrangda Singh). But Priti is in love with Shyam who is the future son in law of a powerful minister. Arun now has to save Shyam, because Priti loves him - from mortal danger. Arunoday Singh who plays Kuldeep the gangster on his last job has decided to quit crime after this job because his wife is fed up with him and he suspects that she already has found another man.
Kuldeep is to kidnap Shyam for ransom to be collected from the minister. But the engagement is called off without Kuldeep’s knowledge. Now Shyam has no value alive or dead for the minister or his daughter or even to Kuldeep. Meanwhile Arun decides against all logic to save Shyam for Priti’s sake risking everything including his life. Enter Don’s from Bangkok and the cocktail is complete as the film rides towards a climax where everyone has to fend for himself and the one he loves.
Music is by Nishat Khan, lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire, dialogues by Manu Rishi and Sudhir Mishra while story, screenplay and direction are by Sudhir Mishra. As all of Sudhri Mishra’s stories this movie promises intense human drama set against a large canvas and should be gripping, meaningful cinema at its best. And with a star cast that includes Irrfan Khan, Chitrangada Singh the movie should be more than value for money.
