Dum Maaro Dum - The much awaited blockbuster

‘Dum Maaro Dum’ is a much awaited blockbuster with an equally interesting star cast. Shot mostly in Goa, the film directed by Rohan Sippy, has an impressive cast comprising of Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Rana and Pratiek Babbar – all known for their histrionic abilities and intensity. Deepika Padukone will be doing an item number in this movie on the remix version of the iconic song from the seventies ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ from Dev Anand’s ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’.

The story is about six people who meet at the Goa airport and how their lives change in a mad rush with drug mafias. Abhishek Bachchan plays ACP Vishnu Kamath, a man who is close to the edge, with his own demons to tame, and a mission to crack down on the drug mafia in Goa. Pratiek is a student stuck who direly needs money to go to the US to join his girlfriend who falls prey to lucrative offers that are not all so straight. Rana plays a DJ who has a bird’s eye view of all that’s happening and who is now required to take a stand. Bipasha plays Zoey, an aspiring air hostess for whom nothing is going right. Aditya Pancholi is Lorsa Biscuta the local businessman who is ruthless but who in turn reports to an unknown villain who appears to run and control everything. It is a given that the film is a fast paced thriller that rides on the action and suspense element. The music is by Pritam, cinematography by Amit Roy and editing by Aarif Sheikh. Ramesh Sippy produced the film.

‘Dum Maaro Dum’ promises to entertain, shock and thrill from the looks of it. The music has been received favourably and from the looks of it, the movie should be a winner. One that is worth queuing up for!
